About GasBudgeter

Free, accurate driving cost tools for U.S. drivers.

GasBudgeter was built for one reason: driving costs in the U.S. are surprisingly hard to calculate. Whether you're estimating your annual commute, planning a road trip budget, figuring out your IRS mileage deduction, or comparing EV vs. gas costs — the information is scattered across government websites, spreadsheets, and guesswork.

We built GasBudgeter to put all of those tools in one place. Every calculator uses transparent, documented formulas. Every data source — EIA.gov for gas prices, IRS.gov for mileage rates — is clearly cited.

What We Offer

  • Core calculators — Gas cost, commute cost, road trip, MPG, fuel savings, and more
  • Real-time gas prices — Weekly EIA.gov data for all 50 states
  • IRS mileage tools — Reimbursement calculators updated annually
  • EV cost comparisons — Charging cost vs. gas by state

Who Builds This

GasBudgeter is built and maintained by Bit Nest, a software company focused on useful, free web tools for everyday decisions. Questions, corrections, or calculator requests are welcome at contact@gasbudgeter.com.

James Hunt reviews GasBudgeter's calculators for accuracy, checking that every formula matches its documented method and that each figure traces back to its cited source (EIA.gov for fuel prices, IRS.gov for mileage rates). Reviews happen whenever a rate or data source changes, so the numbers you see stay current.
