Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information is collected when you use GasBudgeter (gasbudgeter.com), how it is used, and the choices you have. GasBudgeter is operated by Bit Nest.

Information We Collect

GasBudgeter does not require account creation. Our calculators run entirely in your browser — the numbers you enter are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

We collect anonymous analytics data (such as page views, device type, approximate location, and referring site) through industry-standard tools to understand how the site is used and to improve it. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you.

Our advertising partners (see “Advertising” below) and their vendors also collect data through cookies and similar technologies when ads are served on our pages.

If you email us using the address on our Contact page, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message, and use it only to respond to you.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. GasBudgeter and its partners use:

• Analytics cookies — to measure traffic and usage patterns in aggregate.
• Advertising cookies — set by Google and other third-party vendors to serve and measure ads, including, where applicable, ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not break the calculators, though some ads may become less relevant. See “Your Privacy Choices” below for advertising-specific opt-outs.

Advertising

GasBudgeter displays advertising to keep the site free to use. We use Google AdSense and may use other advertising services.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to GasBudgeter and/or other sites on the internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info (US), youronlinechoices.eu (EU/UK), or optout.aboutads.info.

Your Privacy Choices

EEA, UK, and Switzerland. Where required, we (through a consent management platform) ask for your consent before non-essential cookies, including advertising cookies, are used. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie settings control on the site.

California.Under the CCPA/CPRA, the use of advertising cookies may be considered “sharing” or a “sale” of personal information. California residents can opt out using the advertising opt-out links above, by enabling the Global Privacy Control signal in their browser, or by emailing us. We do not sell personal information for money and we do not knowingly process personal information of anyone under 16.

Third-Party Data Sources

We fetch gas price data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA.gov) public API and reference IRS.gov for mileage rates. No personal data is shared with these sources.

Data Retention

We do not collect personal data through the calculators, so there is nothing there to retain or delete. Aggregate analytics data is retained for up to 26 months. Data handled by our advertising partners is governed by their own retention policies. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our practices or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
