Nebraska has no oil refineries and relies on pipelines carrying gasoline in from refineries in Kansas and the broader Midwest. As one of the country's largest corn producers, Nebraska also has extensive ethanol production infrastructure, and E85 and other high-ethanol blends are more widely available at Nebraska pumps than in most states.
Where Gas Is Cheapest and Most Expensive in Nebraska
Prices are generally consistent along the I-80 corridor connecting Omaha, Lincoln, and North Platte, where station competition is strongest. The Panhandle, in the state's far west, sits farthest from pipeline terminals and tends to run a little higher.
